1. Focusing on picture 1, i am close to the subjects i am shooting. 2. Focusing on picture 3, i am shooting from the side. 3. Most of my pictures are horizontal. 4. I used the rule of thirds in a few of my shots. I used it in pictures 2 and 3. In picture 2, the two ends of the leaves/branches end at the 1/3 mark of the image. In picture 3, the books are lined up slightly to the left, close to the 1/3 mark as well. 5. In picture 3, the books and contrast of color create a perfect dynamic composition that leads the viewers eyes through the work. The lights and darks throughout the picture lead the viewers eyes to focus on the center of the image first. In addition, the angle of the edges of the books create an inferred line.
Powerlines
1. I did consider the rule of thirds in my shots, especially in my last shot. In the last photo i lined the pole from which the lines are coming out from on the 1/3 mark. 2. I believe that photo 3 is a dynamic composition that successfully leads the viewers eyes through the work. I think this because the picture starts the focus of your attention on the left side of the image where the big focused black pole is. Then as you look over to the right it gets lighter and blurry. I think the focus and location of the power lines create a perfect composition for the viewers eyes. 3. I think my third image contains the best play of organic and geometric shapes. The large power line that all of the other lines come out of is large and an organic shape that is not in any of my other shots. 4. I think my last photo satisfies this assignment best. It uses the law of thirds lined up with the telephone pole, with a contrast of black and whites throughout the image. Then the power lines lead your eye throughout the work.
Texture/pattern/rhythm
1. In my photos i moved beyond the subject of matter and the subject of the image, and focused on the surface quality. I did this by taking my pictures close so you can see all of the shadows and little marks on the surface of my subject. The point of view helped me focus more on the surface quality of the subject. 2. I feel as if my first image is most captivating. 3. I definitely feel as if the lighting made an impact on the quality of the images because the lighting coming from certain angles of your images casts shadows, exposing the texture of the surface more. For example, image 1 and 3 would be totally different picture if the light was shining straight on and not on an angle. 4. If i could shoot one of them over again i would shoot image 5, the image of the scarf. I would do this because i would want to retake it more close up and change the point of view so i could see the texture of it more clearly.
